Clinical Biography
Shami Nandy, M.D., is a geriatrician who sees patients at the Thomas and Lyon Longevity Clinic in the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging. Dr. Nandy also serves on the geriatrics consult service at UAMS and will help to identify patients who are at high risk of falls and who might be developing delirium.

Dr. Shami Nandy is an assistant professor in the UAMS College of Medicine Department of Geriatrics.
She received her medical degree from Dhaka Medical College in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2009. She completed her family medicine residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Monroe and then continued her training with a fellowship in geriatrics at UAMS.

I know there's a hiring freeze at UAMS but there's a limit to everyone's ability to cope. The doctor explained to me that our conversation was being recorded on AI and asked me if that was ok. I don't trust AI, but I said ok. She said that it saves her a lot of time because she doesn't have to type her notes. I'm all for that. I don't know where UAMS gets their money other than from patients, insurance, donations. Perhaps all hospitals in the state should petition our state government to make money available.

Didn't feel the exam was any more than a quick annual. Blood work and go see a specialist regarding gastrointestinal issues. No discussion regarding mental stress. I hope to get an analysis of what my recent blood work means.
