Provider Spotlight: Get to Know Elizabeth L. Eoff, M.D.

Assisting with my father’s care during his journey with Parkinson’s disease and dementia deeply influenced my decision to focus on caring for the elderly and patients with memory disorders. My mother and brother also shaped my path in meaningful ways. My mother is a mathematics professor and instilled in me a love of learning and a strong sense of service to others, while my brother, a biochemistry professor at UAMS who leads a cancer research laboratory, reinforced those same values.

It’s truly an honor and a privilege to care for older adults and their families. I value the relationships that develop over time and the opportunity to support patients and caregivers during some of the most challenging moments in their lives.

I value the academic environment at UAMS and, as an Arkansan, the opportunity to care for patients across the state. In addition to my work in Little Rock, I travel to regional clinics to help expand access to memory care. I also enjoy helping educate and shape trainees, knowing this has an exponential impact on the care of older adults across Arkansas.

My mother has had the biggest influence on me. She modeled a deep commitment to education, service, and making a positive impact on society, and the values she instilled continue to guide both my personal and professional life.

I’m currently reading “George, Nicholas, and Wilhelm: Three Royal Cousins and the Road to World War I,” a book that reflects my long-standing interest in history. I also enjoy activities that support lifelong learning and cognitive health, including painting, learning piano, improving my Spanish, and practicing meditation.

I enjoy keeping an ongoing bucket list centered on travel. I love experiencing different countries, exploring historical places, and learning about different cultures. So far, I’ve visited France, Italy, and the United Kingdom, and I look forward to continuing that journey — and I’m always open to new travel suggestions!
