Also called: Groin Hernia
Inguinal hernias are the most common type of hernia and are sometimes called groin hernias. These hernias are located in the crease of the upper thigh and the lower abdomen. Sometimes inguinal hernias may develop a bulge where the intestine pushes through the opening in the abdomen beneath the skin.
It is common for this type of hernia to cause discomfort or pain, however, some may be painless.
Like all hernias, these may develop based on a number of factors, including physical activity, like lifting heavy objects, aging or obesity.
