He also cares for the critically ill and injured as an intensivist in the UAMS Surgical ICU and ECMO program.

Academic Biography
Nolan Bruce, M.D., is a physician and Assistant Professor in the Division of Trauma and Critical Care Surgery at UAMS Medical Center.
Dr. Bruce received his bachelor’s degree at The University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma and his medical degree at The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He completed his General Surgery Residency at UAMS, and a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Bruce is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He is also an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Certified Instructor and a member of the UAMS ECMO team.

Dr. Bruce was exceptional! I have extremely bad anxiety and he asked if there was anything he could do to make me more comfortable and MEANT IT! That meant more to me than you could ever know. He explained everything in detail and even drew me a picture so I could understand things better. I could keep going on everything he did right, but just know he was great!
