He also cares for the critically ill and injured as an intensivist in the UAMS Surgical ICU and ECMO program.

Academic Biography
Nolan Bruce, M.D., is a physician and Assistant Professor in the Division of Trauma and Critical Care Surgery at UAMS Medical Center.
Dr. Bruce received his bachelor’s degree at The University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma and his medical degree at The University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He completed his General Surgery Residency at UAMS, and a Surgical Critical Care Fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas.
Dr. Bruce is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in both General Surgery and Surgical Critical Care. He is also an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) Certified Instructor and a member of the UAMS ECMO team.
In addition to trauma and emergency general surgery, Dr. Bruce also performs elective surgery related to skin and soft tissue, chest and abdominal wall reconstruction, gastrointestinal tract, and biliary disease.
