I have struggled with back pain for several decades. This back pain a few weeks ago was through the roof. It prevented me from doing the activities that I enjoy and doing those things that my family and other people expect me to be able to do.
I called the UAMS Health Back and Neck Clinic and they were able to schedule me the same day. I met with Dr. Nance. They were able to do an X-ray on me at the clinic several doors down. She assessed that I was not in need of surgery or other invasive procedures. She scheduled me with the physical therapists out at the clinic in the same location.
My symptoms have improved over the last month greatly. I do physical therapy twice a week. My physical therapist, Allison, is great and has shown me many things that I can do at home that mitigate the pain, improve my posture, and keep me healthy and active and I don’t think that I will need surgery anytime soon.
I really appreciate the one-on-one care that I have received at UAMS Health. I have been able to communicate with both my physician and my physical therapist, oftentimes with electronic means, through the use of MyChart. They have been very responsive and have seen to my needs extremely well.
