Psychoanalysis is a more in-depth form of psychodynamic therapy where the provider and the patient will visit on a regularly scheduled basis. Psychoanalytic therapy is designed to bring unconscious or deeply buried thoughts and feelings to the conscious mind so that repressed experiences and emotions, often from childhood, can be brought to the surface and examined.
