I did have a couple of questions after the appointment ans submitted those on the portal. I still do not have a response to 2 of 3 questions.

She listened mostly but when I tried to tell about the sun causing rashes and heat she just said my condition was due to stress instead of listening.

Dr Kota listened to my concerns, answered all my questions about my symptoms, and explained in terms I could understand. I was informed of the next steps in determining my treatment. She was excellent in explaining tests I had previously taken. She explained other tests I needed to take and would discuss those results with me after she received them. I was very pleased with her and expect her to do what she can to treat me. I left confident that I would receive the bedt care possible.

This provider explained things to us that we had never been told in the past 20 years! It was amazing to actually have it explained.

I felt as if the provider was not willing to listen to what my concerns or issues were. I proceeded to explain what I had been through and how my issues started and she cut me off and asked standard questions instead. When asked questions, she grouped together several symptoms in which I could answer "yes or no" . I do not feel she was willing to listen to my concerns or to learn my history with my medical issues I was dealing with. I had seen several doctors and was referred by the neurologist with the understanding that Rheumatology was to run additional tests. This provider, listened to my heart and lungs and sent me for X-rays. No RA blood work was done to rule out any possibilities. At the end, her diagnosis was fibromyalgia/chronic pain and that I needed to consider a "life style change". I left the office feeling very defeated, confused and discouraged. I felt I had wasted my time and energy by taking off work and driving 2 hours to UAMS, just to be dismissed in this manner. 2 days later I received a voicemail message with results of the X-ray and she again said to consider a "lifestyle change". I still do not know what she is meaning by this comment.

After 5 cancellations by the doctor, when I finally arrived at this appointment, she informed me that the records from my previous rheumatologist supposedly never arrived. Therefore, she is unable to provide a diagnosis and suggested I return to my primary care doctor for my fibromyalgia. She claimed they never responded and the Google shows the offices as closed. I contacted the offices, and they informed me that they never received any communication from this doctor in Arkansas requesting my records, and their phones are working properly. This is unacceptable after so many cancellations, only to be told this, and even worse, they never contacted me to inform me that the Florida Rheumatologist offices were supposedly closed. Terrible service.

Dr Kota was excellent in her care for me. She also followed up with me by phone a few days later to make sure I was doing ok on new meds she prescribed.
