Dr Kang performed a successful surgery, however, he never informed me of the potential outcome where I my bowels might never normalize and I could wind up with permanent chronic diarrhea. Three and a half weeks after surgery, I have made no progress in normalizing. His response to my questions about this matter was "you may have to change your expectations." The only expectations I had were based on conversations during my multiple surgery stays, where we discussed the procedures. I would like to have known this possible outcome before my final follow up meeting. I left in shock with a new fear that I may never fully recover. Possible risks of permanent life changing disabilities resulting from the surgeries that treated my Crohn's condition should have been clearly discussed. I'm sure I didn't just miss this or misinterpret In our numerous visits. Also, pain medications were not adequate to make me comfortable after the more significant first and third procedures.
