Clinical Biography
Dr. Rangaswamy Govindarajan is board-certified in internal medicine, hematology and oncology and is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. With his greater than 25 years of experience at UAMS, Dr. Govindarajan is very knowledgeable concerning UAMS and its health system. Dr. Govindarajan is a member of the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. His primary clinical and research interests are gastrointestinal cancers, sarcoma and melanoma.

Dr. Govindarajan is well respected and universally liked by his peers. His contributions to the academic environment include education of residents and fellows, participation in the clinical trial effort, and translational research.
Dr. Govindarajan received his medical degree from Mysore Medical College at the University of Mysore in Mysore, India. He completed an internship in General Medicine, Surgery and Ob/GYN/Pediatrics at K.R. Hospital & Cheluvamba Hospital in Mysore, India. Dr. Govindarajan completed his medical training at UAMS, first with a residency in Internal Medicine and then, as a fellow in the Division of Hematology/Oncology.
