About Dr. Cassat
Clinical Biography
Michael Cassat, M.D., joined the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences on March 1, 2015. He received his medical degree at UAMS in 1997 and completed his family medicine residency at the UAMS Area Health Education Center in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in 2005.
Dr. Cassat has practiced in primary care and musculoskeletal medicine in Springdale, Arkansas, and then Eagle and Vail, Colorado. Most recently, he practiced at Arkansas Specialty Orthopedics in Little Rock.

The provider did not even examine me. He did not even check my back, my hip, or nothing. He sit and talk and left. I was totally unhappy and dissatisfied with this visit to be charged.

I really appreciated the fact that my doctor had remembered me from 2017. I did not remember seeing him, but he remembered seeing me. Now whether he read my chart and remembered that or what, but he remembered specific incidents concerning my visit. And that impressed me very well. That gave me a lot of confidence in him because normally it's the other way around. And doctors just don't, they see so many patients, they don't hold a whole lot in memory, especially that time frame. So I was very happy. I do think that the front desk could be a little more friendly. I'm not going to say they weren't friendly, but they didn't do anything over and above to make me think they were more friendly than anyone else. And then I think staff needs to learn to respect when one staff member is with a patient.

Staff was very patient and pretty thorough with a complex patient. Appreciate the physian taking a cautious approach, needing more information to determine next steps in treatment. Very narrow specialization among orthopedists is unhelpful in some ways.
