About Dr. Barth

Clinical Biography

Kathryn Barth, M.D. is a board-certified orthopaedic trauma surgeon specializing in the evaluation and surgical treatment of complex musculoskeletal injuries. She provides comprehensive care for patients with traumatic fractures and other orthopaedic injuries, with particular interests in periarticular fractures, fracture healing, fracture-related infections, and nonunions. Her clinical and academic work focuses on improving the treatment and outcomes of patients with complex orthopaedic trauma.

Dr. Barth completed her orthopaedic surgery residency at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, followed by fellowship training in orthopaedic trauma surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She earned her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where she graduated summa cum laude and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She earned her undergraduate degree summa cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was also a member of the varsity women’s soccer team.

Dr. Barth is committed to education and mentorship, teaching residents in the clinic, operating room, and classroom. She has served as an instructor for the Orthopaedic Trauma Association Comprehensive Resident Course and has been involved in resident leadership and education throughout her training and academic career.
