Clinical Biography
Dr. Khan’s clinical focus is advanced and transnasal endoscopy: he is currently being trained for the same. Dr. Khan is currently seeing general GI patients, as well as specializes in advanced endoscopy and transnasal esophagogastroduodenoscopy (TNE).

Academic Biography
Hamza Hassan Khan, M.D., has joined the Department of Pediatrics as an assistant professor in the gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition section.
Dr. Khan is originally from Pakistan and received his medical degree at Shifa College of Medicine, Shifa Tameer-e-Millat University, Islamabad, Pakistan. Afterward, he worked as a research assistant at The Transplant Center for Children, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, DC. He completed his pediatric residency and served as a chief pediatric resident at Ascension St. John Children’s Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Thereafter, he completed his pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition fellowship at Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital, Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina.
Dr. Khan’s clinical focus is advanced and transnasal endoscopy: he is currently being trained for the same. Dr. Khan has been actively involved in clinical research and secured an intramural grant during his fellowship to study intestinal ultrasound findings compared to endoscopy at diagnosis in pediatric inflammatory bowel disease patients.
