Alexander Burnett, M.D. specializes in gynecologic cancers and is the most experienced physician in the United States to treat several gynecologic cancers from a transvaginal approach. This approach permits more rapid recovery with less pain and avoids any abdominal incisions

Academic Biography
Dr. Alexander Burnett, M.D., is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). He previously held the position of Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology (Ob/Gyn) and served as Vice Chairman on the Institutional Review Board at the University of Southern California. Dr. Burnett has also served as a medical advisor for a major television network. During his fellowship and residency training, Dr. Burnett earned an American Cancer Society Clinical Fellowship, as well as a Residence Award in gynecology for his academic performance. He is certified by the Board of Gynecology Oncology. Dr. Burnett is a member of the society of Gynecologic Oncologists. He has contributed to peer reviews, book chapters, and other professional publications focusing on cervical cancer and other gynecologic disorders. Dr. Burnett served as the principal investigator for multiple research projects on pharmaceutical comparison studies as well as other alternative treatments for gynepathic carcinoma. He has also had the honor of receiving the UAMS College of Medicine’s Red Sash award for Medical Student Teaching in 2009. He also received the College of Medicine’s Award of Excellence for Outstanding Faculty Member in 2014 and has been selected by Best Doctors, Inc. as one of the Best Doctors in America.

The doctors and nurses at UAMS have always been extremely competent, compassionate & professional in all of my years of treatment there. I had three of my four children there in the past 34 years, and most recently have been treated for endometrial cancer at UAMS. Dr [NAME], Dr Burnett and other doctors & nurses there saved my life.
