UAMS Health in Bryant

UAMS Health in Bryant is a 53-bed hospital that includes a 16-bed emergency department staffed by UAMS Health physicians with expertise in emergency medicine.

Registration, waiting areas, a chapel, a canteen and the Emergency Department are located on the first floor. First floor surgical suites are designed for bariatric surgery along with a variety of general surgical procedures. Patient rooms are located on the second and third floors.

The UAMS Health Specialty Clinic in Bryant is located on the fourth floor.

Free, convenient, surface-level parking is available near the main entrance of the building and the Emergency Department entrance.

Patients can expect timely, high-quality, and compassionate care from some of Arkansas’ most skilled providers.

Family and Visitors

Chapel

A chapel is located near the lobby on the first floor behind the information desk. The chapel is available for prayer, reflection, and quiet time. You are welcome to invite your personal spiritual leader or minister to be with you during your procedure and hospital stay.

Children

Children must be supervised at all times by an adult (18 or older) other than the patient. Children may be asked to have a short health screening before entering areas where patients need to be protected from infections. Your care team may limit children and other visitors for patient safety. Children may not stay overnight.

Food for Visitors

A canteen on the first floor offers a variety of food and drinks for purchase. A microwave oven is available for visitor use.

Hand Washing

Clean hands are the best way to prevent infections. Using alcohol-based hand gel or washing with soap and water is the best way to clean your hands. Please clean your hands and remind family, guests and your care team to clean their hands too.

Infection Prevention

Family and friends should not visit the hospital if they have fever within the past 24 hours, runny nose, cough, sore throat, upper respiratory infection, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea.

Overnight Visitors

Let your care team know if someone will be staying overnight with you in your patient room. Specialized units, including intensive care rooms and the Emergency Department, may have different policies for overnight visitation. Ask your care team for more information.

UAMS Health is tobacco-free. Use of tobacco is not allowed inside or outside buildings, in parking lots or in cars on UAMS Health in Bryant property

Visiting Hours

Families and other partners in care are welcome 24 hours a day according to patient preference. The front entrance is open from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. During other hours, visitors may enter through the Emergency Department. Specialized units including intensive care rooms may have different visitation policies. Ask your care team for more information.

Weapons

UAMS Health is weapons-free. Weapons of any kind, including knives and guns, regardless of concealed carry status, are not permitted on UAMS Health property.

Interpreters

Video interpreting is available free of charge if you do not speak English or are hearing impaired and need help communicating with your care team.

Medical Records

You may get a copy of your medical records at any time. There is no charge for copies sent to a doctor’s office, clinic or hospital. There is a charge for copies if the records are requested for personal use or if the records are picked up at UAMS Health. You may call the UAMS Health Medical Records office at 501-603-1520. MyChart

UAMS MyChart gives you free, secure 24-hour online access to your health information. You can see your lab and test results, message your care team, make appointments, refill prescriptions and pay your bill. Ask your care team how to sign up.

Safety

If you have any patient safety concerns while at UAMS, talk with your doctor or nurse. You can also call the Patient Safety Department at 501-296-1039.

UAMS Health is tobacco-free. Use of tobacco is not allowed inside or outside buildings, in parking lots or in cars on UAMS Health-Bryant property. Your doctor may be able to give you medicine to help you handle withdrawal while in the hospital.

Valuables

Please leave jewelry, electronics, credit cards, money and medications at home. UAMS is not responsible for lost or stolen items, including home medications. Call UAMS Police at 501-686-7777 to report stolen property.

Patient Transfers

A UAMS Health Physician Call Center nurse will ensure timely, appropriate consultations for your patients and assist you with patient transfer requests. The center is staffed by experienced telephone triage RNs 24/7, 365 days a year.

Patients park in the surface-level parking lot next to UAMS Health in Bryant. Parking is free. A covered drop-off area is available at the main entrance.
