Dr. Shitiz Sriwastava:
My name is Shitiz Sriwastava. I am an associate professor at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and my expertise includes neurology and multiple sclerosis, which is inflammation of the brain and the spine. I also treat neurosarcoidosis, which is again an inflammatory condition of the brain, the spine and the optic nerve.
I am also an expert in autoimmune encephalitis, neuromyelitis optica and MOG disorders. These conditions are chronic disorders, and they can cause a lot of comorbidities and disability. So we have to understand, from the patient’s perspective, what they are suffering from, because these disorders can take someone from walking to becoming wheelchair-bound.
I’m here to help our patients with multiple sclerosis, and when I say helping, it’s not only the people around Little Rock—people from around the state can come here for this expertise, and I’m here to help them.
