Deborah Honaker was diagnosed with scoliosis, or curvature of the spine when she was 10 years old, and she lived relatively pain-free until the summer of 2019. A neurology clinic in Fayetteville said they couldn’t take her case because it was so severe and referred her to UAMS orthopedic surgeon Dr. David Bumpass. He fused her spine to straighten it and eliminate the pain.
She’s now two inches taller and has been able to resume the international travel she loves so much. Next stops are Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Poland, followed by Egypt and Jordan at the end of the year.
“I absolutely know that I received the very best care that could be given. Dr. Bumpass and his nurse practitioner, Dana Lawrence, were both so knowledgeable and helpful to me.”
