About Dr. Oliphant
Clinical Biography
Dr. Sallie Oliphant brings more than a decade of experience caring for women with urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, overactive bladder, fecal incontinence, complications related to vaginal mesh, and other complex pelvic floor conditions.
Dr. Oliphant's Academic Background
Academic Biography
Dr. Sallie Oliphant completed her medical degree at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She then went on to complete both a residency in obstetrics and gynecology and a fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at The University of Pittsburgh, Magee-Women’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During her fellowship, she received a master’s in clinical research from the University of Pittsburgh. She is board-certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Urogynecology and Reconstructive Pelvic Surgery.
She has made a number of national presentations and had numerous publications in her specialty area. She is an active, NIH-funded, researcher with a special interest in maternal pelvic floor adaptation and injury and surgical outcomes in Urogynecology. She is a steering committee member of the Collaborative Research in Pelvic Surgery Consortium. She is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a member of the American Urogynecologic Society.
