About Dr. Saccente
Clinical Biography
Dr. Saccente has expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of infectious diseases, with specific interest in HIV, systemic fungal infections, and sexually transmitted infections. Dr. Saccente joined the UAMS faculty in 1996 after completing internal medicine residency and a 3-year infectious diseases fellowship at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. At UAMS, he was promoted to the rank of Professor of Medicine in 2010. He is the Director of the Division of Infectious Diseases and the Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine Residency.

I always take the stairs when I'm in the outpatient building to avoid being in the elevator. The stairwell was very unkempt to be located in a medical facility.
