Patient ratings are not available for this provider. Why not?

Why are there no ratings?

There is no publicly available rating for this medical professional for one of three reasons:

  • He or she does not see patients
  • He or she sees patients but has not yet received the minimum number of Patient Satisfaction Reviews. To be eligible for display, we require a minimum of 30 surveys. This ensures that the rating is statistically reliable and a true reflection of patient satisfaction.
  • He or she is a resident physician.

About Dr. Luna

Clinical Biography

Dr. Michael Luna is an interventional cardiologist and a specialist in advanced cardiac pathology spanning the spectrum of advanced coronary artery disease, structural heart disease, and congenital heart disease.

His wide-ranging training has allowed him to carve out a unique career that covers a vast array of advanced cardiac lesions.  He comes to our center with extensive experience in treating complex coronary artery disease including chronic total occlusions where he can employ both antegrade and retrograde techniques.  He has developed a comfort with use of all mechanical circulatory support systems including ECMO.  He can treat patients with valvular heart disease in all four heart valve positions percutaneously, which can include transcatheter valve repairs, like MitraClip, or complete valve replacements.  These are often in older patients with forms of acquired heart disease but can also include younger patients with forms of congenital heart disease.  There are other procedures like left atrial appendage occlusion which he can perform without the need for general anesthesia.  Electrosurgical techniques are the most advanced percutaneous interventional cardiology techniques currently available that can treat very complex heart disease without the need for traditional cardiac surgery.  He has a growing experience with these techniques which he now brings to UAMS as well.
