About Dr. Steliga
Clinical Biography
Dr. Steliga specializes in thoracic oncology with an emphasis on lung cancer, esophageal cancer and other tumors of the chest and is experienced in minimally invasive thoracic surgery. He previously served as an instructor in the Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
A graduate of the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Steliga completed his internship and residency in general surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center in Memphis, Tenn. He also served as a resident in cardiothoracic surgery at the Texas Heart Institute in Houston.
He is board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, an associate fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery and a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

It was good, the only thing I didn't get a clear answer for is the pain I have in my chest and now both sides. This pain started in July of 2023 in my chest and when I breath slowly moved to my right side within about a year and in 2025 started showing up in my left side. The pain never goes away and at times gets so much worse and as the pain increases my breathing gets worse. I'm coming back in [DATE] for a follow up and possible more test. If I can find out what's causing this pain no matter what it may I will accept it and will my me feel better! The Doctor I saw there is a good Doctor and I can tell he truly cars.

The Student Doctor who first came in was very nice, seemed very informed and knowledgeable and then she returned with Dr Steliga and they both were very informative, helpful and gave me a lot of information to let me understand what I was dealing with and what I am facing and what to expect in the future!
