Clinical Biography
Dr. Katie Rude is a hepatologist specializing in liver transplant and treating a wide range of liver disorders. She completed medical school at the University of Virginia and then went on to complete her residency in internal medicine at the University of Michigan. She subsequently pursued her fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Washington University in St. Louis and then stayed on for an additional fellowship in transplant hepatology. In 2015, she joined the UAMS faculty and the Central Arkansas Veteran Healthcare System as an assistant professor. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and is board-eligible for Transplant Hepatology.

The only issue I had was when the medical assistant took my blood pressure using a machine. It showed high the first time and then about 100/38 the second two times. When the actual nurse came in and did a manual blood pressure, it was about 122/80 in both arms, which is my normal. Everything else was awesome at this visit, which was my first to UAMS

[NAME] is a godsend! I had been trying to schedule with Dr. Rude since Nov 2023. Every time I called I was told I couldn't schedule because there was no referral. I called Tricare and confirmed the referral was faxed and received by UAMS multiple times. I made one more attempt and finally asked for the patient advocate. I contacted the clinic again and got [NAME] . Her customer service and willingness to assist me was much appreciated. It was then discovered that the previous fax numbers were incorrect. Again, [NAME] 's excellent customer service should be rewarded.
