Providers have moved away from touching patients. I remember when they would do a more thorough examination of touching, feeling, poking etc. None of this occurred. I don't blame her because I know that most providers don't do this anymore, but they need start doing a better job of physically accessing the patient. They might find suspicious lumps and bumps - catch issues early before they become detrimental.

I was pleasantly surprised by Kaitlin Shonnard, PA. She was smart, an excellent communicator and spent a great deal of time with me. She took excellent notes and is a great listener. I did my Master's Thesis on communication excellence between physicians and their patients. I interviewed many doctors at UAMS and Arkansas Children's about what it takes to be a good communicator. As a PA, she rates up there at the top of best physician communicators I've ever met.

Yes, Kaitlin Shonnard was a night and day difference from my previous healthcare provider. I honestly was considering leaving the healthcare system because the responses and the general lack of attention from or attention to detail from the last provider was awful. Ms. Shonnard was very attentive. She asked a lot of really good questions. She dug into my history and really left no stone unturned, which that's what I'm looking for in a healthcare provider. So I'm actually recommending other people to go visit with her now that I'm aware that she's in the healthcare system.

I just want to say that on the first question, I hit no, and that was an accident. Everything from scheduling to actually getting in and getting processed and getting back and the nurse taking care of me and taking my vitals and everything and asking questions, all that went well. Then I met Kaitlyn and her attention to detail, her listening and her communication of information and knowledge in response to the questions I was asking about the issues I was having. Everything was well. She was very personable. I had a really good experience. So 10 out of 10 on everything. Like I said, I just wanted to leave a message because the first question I answered, I hit a one and that was a no and that was an accident. Thank you.
