About Dr. Kennedy
Clinical Biography
Josh Kennedy, M.D., is an Associate Professor of Allergy and Immunology for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Arkansas Children’s Hospital. He is also a researcher at the Arkansas Children’s Research Institute.
Dr. Kennedy received his medical degree in 2006 from UAMS and completed a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at UAMS and ACH. He completed Allergy and Immunology Fellowship training at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. He joined the faculty at ACH/UAMS in July 2013, where he is a member of the Division of Pediatric Allergy/Immunology and Internal Medicine Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Kennedy’s clinical interests include allergic and immunologic diseases such as asthma, food allergy, atopic dermatitis, and primary immunodeficiency. His research interests are focused on asthma and the effects of the common cold virus, rhinovirus. He is particularly interested in mucosal immune responses to rhinovirus that may synergize with allergic disease. Dr. Kennedy is a member of the American College of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Allergy-Immunology.

Academic Biography
Dr. Josh Kennedy of the UAMS College of Medicine Department of Pediatrics, along with Dr. Karl Boehme and Dr. Craig Forrest of the UAMS College of Medicine Department of Microbiology and Immunology, published a study in the Journal of the Pediatric Infectious Disease Society that indicates SARS-CoV2 infections among children were more common in Arkansas than previously recognized during the first year of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
