About Dr. Fussell
Clinical Biography
In 2002, Jill Fussell, M.D., accepted an appointment in the UAMS College of Medicine as a clinical instructor of pediatrics in the Section of Developmental Pediatrics and Habilitative Medicine. She was promoted to assistant professor in 2003, to associate professor with tenure in 2008 and promoted to professor in 2017. She served as associate program director of the UAMS Pediatrics Residency from 2004 to 2008. She assumed the role of director of the Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics Fellowship in 2007, and continues in this role currently. She served as the chief of the Developmental Pediatrics and Habilitative Medicine Section from 2018 to 2023, at which time she was appointed as Vice Chair of Fellowship Education within the UAMS Department of Pediatrics.
She has also served in multiple national leadership roles within developmental behavioral pediatrics, including as an elected member of the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics board from 2017 to 2020. She was also elected to the executive committee of the National Council of Pediatric Subspecialties in 2016, and appointed as the chair in 2020.
Dr. Fussell enjoys the multidisciplinary practice that is integral to developmental pediatrics, collaborating with other disciplines to provide evidence-based diagnostic evaluations, and supporting families through systems of care. She intends to engage with families, at whatever phase they are along the continuum of understanding their child’s individual strengths and struggles, to move forward as a team in pursuing the most optimal outcomes their child can achieve.
