About Dr. Stronach
Clinical Biography
Benjamin M. Stronach, M.D., is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon, specializing in joint replacements of the hip and knee.
Dr. Stronach earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine, where he also completed his internship and orthopaedic surgery residency. Following his residency, Dr. Stronach had the opportunity to complete a traveling fellowship in Hip Reconstruction and Preservation Surgery at Inselspital under the direction of Professor Klaus Siebenrock in Bern, Switzerland. He then completed a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the University of Utah in 2011.
After his training, Dr. Stronach joined the academic faculty at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he held numerous leadership roles while serving as the primary provider of adult reconstruction services at a high-volume and often complex tertiary and quaternary academic medical center. In 2011, he was named the Ambulatory Operations Medical Director, and in 2012, took on the role of Service Director of the Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Program. In 2015, he also became the Chair of the Division of Adult Elective Surgery and Associate Director of the department’s Hip and Knee Arthroplasty Fellowship progra. Dr. Stronach has been recognized for his committement to education as the recipient of the Ronald J. Kendig Professor of the Year Award.
Dr. Stronach is actively involved in national orthopaedic organizations, including serving on committees at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the Association of American Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS). He also completed the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Leadership Fellows Program (FLP).
Dr. Stronach is also an avid researcher with grant funding, numerous peer-reviewed publications and invited presentations. His focus on the the development and improvement of both implants and instrumentation to improve patient outcomes has earned him three patents. His clinical interests include complex revision arthroplasty.

Before joining UAMS Health, Stronach was an associate professor and division chair of adult elective orthopaedic surgery in the department of orthopaedic surgery at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He also served as the hip and knee arthroplasty fellowship director for the Mississippi Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Clinic/University of Mississippi Medical Center combined fellowship program as well as the ambulatory operations medical director and the service director for the hip and knee arthroplasty program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
