If you are in need of urgent or emergency care call 911 or go to your nearest emergency department at your local hospital.
If you have fever, cough or shortness of breath, do not come to UAMS or any other doctor’s office, urgent care clinic or emergency room without first calling and getting instructions.
If someone needs urgent medical care and could have been exposed to COVID-19, tell the operator when you call 911.
Outpatient Visitor Guidelines
Due to an increase in COVID-19 patients in Arkansas and across the country, UAMS is implementing new visiting policies for our clinics. Effective March 20, 2020, patients must come to their visit alone, unless there are special needs such as:
- Patients undergoing a procedure that requires a driver
- Minor patients
- Patients in a wheelchair who need assistance
Visitors must be 18 or older and pass a health screening before entering a UAMS building.
About Sleep Clinic
Sleep is essential for your health and well-being. But the National Sleep Foundation found that at least 40 million Americans suffer from sleep disorders. And more than 40% of adults experience sleepiness severe enough to interfere with daily activities at least a few days each month.
At UAMS, we understand the importance of getting a good night’s sleep. Our sleep specialists are trained to treat a wide range of sleep conditions. A number of factors may interfere with your sleep, so expert medical treatment can help solve the puzzle. Sleep conditions can lower the quality of your life and, if left untreated, can damage organs in your body, including your heart and brain. Conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure may worsen, and lack of sleep is also associated with memory loss, depression and inability to concentrate.
The Sleep Lab
UAMS also offers state-of-the-art testing in our Sleep Lab. You will need to make an appointment with our Sleep Clinic for a referral to the Sleep Lab.
UAMS MyChart is a patient portal that gives you free, secure 24-hour online access to your health information. You can see your lab and test results, send messages to your doctor, make appointments, refill prescriptions and pay your bills. Ask your clinic staff or hospital nurse how to sign up for UAMS MyChart.
