If you have fever, cough or shortness of breath, do not come to UAMS or any other doctor’s office, urgent care clinic or emergency room without first calling and getting instructions.
If someone needs urgent medical care and could have been exposed to COVID-19, tell the operator when you call 911.
Outpatient Visitor Guidelines
Due to an increase in COVID-19 patients in Arkansas and across the country, UAMS is implementing new visiting policies for our clinics. Effective March 20, 2020, patients must come to their visit alone, unless there are special needs such as:
- Patients undergoing a procedure that requires a driver
- Minor patients
- Patients in a wheelchair who need assistance
Visitors must be 18 or older and pass a health screening before entering a UAMS building.
The MammoVan makes it possible for women across Arkansas to benefit from UAMS’ mammography services close to home.
A three-room mobile mammography unit, the MammoVan regularly travels to 26 Arkansas counties that lack FDA-approved certified mammography facilities.
The MammoVan is outfitted with the most advanced digital mammography equipment and is staffed by a certified mammography technologist and a technical assistant. The unit is handicap accessible, with a wheelchair lift entering directly into the mammography suite. It also is designed to accommodate women in a standing or seated position.
Getting Your Test Results
Patients receive their test results within two to three weeks. Results also are sent to each patient’s primary care physician. If the mammogram shows a potential abnormality, the
