The HouseCall Program serves the geriatric population within a 30-mile radius of UAMS. These individuals include ambulatory persons, outpatients who need 24- to 48-hour follow-up care, persons with chronic health problems or someone who is simply having a difficult time being transported to a doctor’s office. UAMS proves this service to make a difference in the outcome and the quality of life for the older adults.
The HouseCall Program is designed to care for those patients who are unable to visit the doctor’s office. These services are also provided to patients in assisted living facilities. The HouseCall physician or Advanced Practice Nurse (APRN) can be your primary care team or work with your existing doctor to provide your care. The HouseCall doctor, in collaboration with an APRN, can coordinate care between families, nursing agencies and home health services.
All routine medical care includes:
- Physical exams
- Regular scheduled visits
- Prescription refills
- Referral to appropriate home health services, durable medical equipment, rehabilitation services, immunizations such as flu and pneumonia shots
Medicare, Medicaid/dually eligible, private insurance or private pay insurance is accepted, and we take care of all the hassles of billing.
Please note that the UAMS HouseCall Program is not an emergency service. You may request an appointment by calling 501-526-6387.
