The kidneys of people with kidney failure function below 20 percent of their normal ability, which may mean they’re barely functioning or not functioning at all.
Common causes of kidney failure include diabetes, high blood pressure, certain medications, some genetic conditions, kidney cancer, and issues with proper blood or urine flow to and from the kidneys.
