As the official orthopaedics and sports medicine provider for Razorback Athletics, UAMS Health provides daily medical coverage for all 19 Arkansas Razorback sports programs. UAMS works with Razorback Athletics’ sports medicine staff to provide exceptional care for the university’s elite student-athletes.

I’m Samara Spencer and I am a point guard for the Arkansas Razorbacks. I love being an Arkansas Razorback. It’s amazing. The love and support that the fans and the people around the state show.
I keep my body healthy by the care that UAMS Health gives to me. My athletic trainer does a great job. If I have any aches or pains she puts me in contact with Dr. Ylanan and we work on it. I go see him and we figure out what the problem is and then from there we evaluate what we need to do, what steps we need to take in order to get me back on the court. I absolutely trust UAMS Health. If I feel like, you know, there is something wrong with me and I just can’t do it, they are going to make sure I am okay and ready and I’m prepared to make that game. My relationship with Dr. Ylanan and the healthcare team, I’d say they are my best friends. Honestly, they are always there when I need them.
This season I am most looking forward to my personal growth. I feel like I have been working hard this past summer and piggy backing of my second and first year, I just want to make a big impact.
