Description
This video discusses the importance of ACL injury prevention, especially for young athletes participating in high-risk sports like soccer, football, and basketball. Our expert explains evidence-based warm-up and training programs — including the widely used FIFA 11 and FIFA 11+ — that can help reduce the risk of ACL tears.
At the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, we’re taking prevention a step further with an innovative, app-based program designed to make ACL-focused exercises accessible right from your smartphone. We’re committed not only to providing excellent surgical care, but also to keeping athletes across Arkansas healthy and active.

One thing that I’m very fond of for our young athletes, particularly high school athletes playing high-risk sports — soccer, football, basketball — is the discussion of ACL injury prevention.
There are multiple programs that are always available. One thing we’re doing here at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is instituting an app-based program where you can work on all of these activities on your smartphone.
There are also programs online such as FIFA 11 and FIFA 11+, that work on different activities or warm-ups for a soccer team. Similar programs exist for basketball or handball or a myriad of other sports.
What I would do is, if any patient is interested in ACL prevention, look online, look up FIFA 11, FIFA 11+, talk to your coaches. And here at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, we’re not only responsible for doing your surgery, but keeping the state healthy from a musculoskeletal standpoint.
If anyone has any questions, we’re always available to talk, and we would love to work with you or your team to institute one of these programs.
