I’m Ryan Hill. I’m an orthopedic surgeon at UAMS. I really enjoy taking care of patients with shoulder and elbow conditions. It’s really rewarding to get to see patients in clinic that range anywhere from a high school athlete who may have dislocated their shoulder all the way up to patients who have bad arthritis in their shoulder or bad rotator cuff problems and really can’t even move their arm and are just looking for some pain relief and some restoration of function. The really rewarding thing for me also about treating shoulder and elbow conditions is there is a wide array of treatments that I’m able to offer to patients. Unlike some other areas of the body Physical Therapy really is a very essential treatment for shoulder conditions but this may also involve injections that can be done in clinic or under the guidance of an x-ray and then starts to get into surgical procedures which is what I specialize in.
