Dr. Marc E. Wise Memorial Resident Education Endowment
Dr. Marc E. Wise
The Dr. Marc E. Wise Resident Education Endowment honors the memory of UAMS College of Medicine graduate Marc Wise, M.D.
We lost our beloved Dr. Wise to suicide on January 22, 2006. He had completed law school and medical school, and was just in the second year of residency training in anesthesiology.
Though he was taken from us too soon, in his life he inspired our minds and hearts through his friendship, sincerity, dedication, and his pursuit of enlightenment through higher education.
Dr. Wise cared deeply for his colleagues at UAMS. In his honor, family and friends established the endowment to give back to the profession for which he found his passion and in which he found indelible bonds of friendship. In his memory, our endowment wishes to contribute to the success of UAMS medical residency programs by providing ongoing education and support toward maintaining and improving the mental health of its residents. It is our hope that through this tragedy, others are given the opportunity to flourish and to achieve their dreams and ambitions.
Dr. Wise was survived by his wife and undergraduate sweetheart, Julleah, his parents Richard and Lena, and younger sister, Candice.
