Midlife Women’s Health Services
Menopause Management
Our providers offer comprehensive evaluation and individualized treatment plans for menopause symptoms. We discuss the full range of options, including hormone therapy, non-hormonal medications, lifestyle strategies, and complementary approaches, and help you understand the benefits and risks of each based on your personal health history.
Perimenopause Care
The transition to menopause can begin years before your last period, and the symptoms during this time can be significant. We help you understand what’s happening in your body and how to manage it effectively.
Hormone Therapy
For women who are candidates, hormone therapy can be highly effective in managing menopause symptoms and protecting long-term bone health. Our providers take time to review your full health history before making any recommendations, and we monitor your care closely over time.
Pelvic Floor Health
Menopause-related hormonal changes can contribute to pelvic floor dysfunction, including urinary leakage, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain. UAMS has urogynecologists and pelvic floor physical therapists who specialize in exactly these issues.
Urogynecology
If you’re experiencing bladder leakage, pelvic pressure, or prolapse, our urogynecology team offers both nonsurgical and surgical treatment options tailored to your goals and your life.
Sexual Health
Changes in sexual function and comfort are common during and after menopause, and they’re something our providers are comfortable discussing. We offer evaluation and treatment for vaginal dryness, painful intercourse, and changes in libido.
Bone Health and Osteoporosis Prevention
Estrogen plays an important role in protecting bone density, and that protection declines after menopause. We provide bone density screening, risk evaluation, and personalized recommendations for protecting your skeletal health in the years ahead.
Mental Health Support
Mood changes, anxiety, and depression are common during the menopause transition and are not something you should have to manage alone. UAMS has women’s mental health specialists, including psychiatrists, who understand the hormonal and psychological dimensions of this stage of life.
Breast Health
Breast cancer risk increases with age. UAMS provides comprehensive breast health services, including mammography, breast MRI, and access to the full expertise of the UAMS Breast Center, located within the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute.
