Treatment/Procedure: Whole Body Bone Scan

A bone scan is a diagnostic imaging test used to determine whether cancer has spread into the skeleton. It is often used to evaluate breast cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and prostate cancer, etc. along with:

  • Diagnosing Bone Infections: Identifying osteomyelitis or other infections.
  • Identifying Fractures: Especially in cases where X-rays do not provide clear results.
  • Evaluating Bone Pain: Investigating unexplained bone pain that doesn’t appear on other imaging tests.
  • Assessing Bone Disorders: Conditions like Paget’s disease or arthritis.
