Quantitative Ventilation/Perfusion (V/Q) Studies are specialized imaging tests that provide detailed, numerical measurements of how well air is ventilating (reaching) different parts of the lungs and how well blood is perfusing (flowing) through the lung tissue. Unlike traditional V/Q scans, which are primarily qualitative (i.e., they show whether there is a mismatch between ventilation and perfusion), quantitative V/Q studies measure the relative and absolute distribution of ventilation and perfusion across different regions of the lungs.
