About Dr. Palys
Clinical Biography
Viktoras Palys, M.D., received his medical degree cum laude from Kaunas Medical University, Lithuania, followed by general surgery residency training at Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Kaunas. Later, Dr. Palys completed his general surgery internship at the University of Illinois at Chicago, Metropolitan Group Hospitals, and neurosurgery residency training at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond. He also obtained additional functional and stereotactic neurosurgery training at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Committee on Advanced Subspecialty Training (CAST)-accredited fellowship, directed by Dr. Prof. Kathryn L. Holloway.
Dr. Palys’ main clinical and academic interests include neurosurgical treatment for epilepsy, movement disorders, pain disorders and certain psychiatric disorders through a combination of traditional evidence-based neurosurgical techniques and Gamma Knife radiosurgery along with the newest technologies, such as laser tissue ablation, responsive neurostimulation (Neuropace), vagal nerve stimulation (VNS), and deep brain stimulation (DBS), utilizing the robotic approaches.

Dr. Palys is a very good doctor. He has a great bedside manner and can explain things so well. I was told multiple things about my spine, but after my appt with Dr. Palys and his explanation of what is going on has been so helpful. It helped me to know better how to talk to my Rheumatologist about what is going on and how to pick the best treatments for my health and my spine. My husband and I have already recommended him to people asking for a good Neurosurgeon.

Dr Palys is the best! He has been seeing me for the past 6 years. He had the best option for me on brain surgery. Has always worried about me and has always listened to my concerns and given me the best advice to maintain a well being life. Always has answers to my questions and says to contact his nurse if I ever need anything or have questions or concerns. Visits are always great and his smile makes driving 3 hrs to Little Rock worth the drive. Im very thankful for him!
