The doctor and student were both very kind, respectful and explained the my condition in terms that I understood.

Laughed with my son about how tricky it is to tell someone to count calories. Did it again from busy hallway thru open exam room door. Now it's become a whole new level of abuse at home and refusals to help with shopping. This was all about microwave popcorn in the room. Doctor unaware that my driver (son) has an eating disorder and weighs all food. Has financial control. Is an untreated psych patient since 20 yo. Now both of us are worse bc of authority figure joking around has now led to near homelessness from son not dropping popcorn snack time and threatening not to buy food. Do not joke about weight or embolden people with more power to those with less. There may be more issues with visitors ability to care for family than known to caregivers. Now my son is worse and I'm nearly thrown out from the fallout. Doc blissfully unaware and juvenile.
