Timothy O. Paslay, CNP Family Nurse Practitioner

Clinical Biography

Timothy Paslay, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is a multi-state licensed nurse practitioner currently working as a provider in the UAMS Movement Disorders Clinic.

During his career, Mr. Paslay has accumulated more than two decades of experience in varied roles at the bedside. Through his extensive registered nurse experience in emergency, trauma, stroke and palliative care, he has developed a diverse skill set in patient assessment, medication management and patient education.

He has also demonstrated leadership abilities as a UAMS Trauma Nurse Champion and Faculty member of the American Heart Association. His previous instructor certifications for basic, advanced and pediatric cardiac life support allowed him to train over 500 students in the American Heart Association lifesaving disciplines, with outstanding learner and co-faculty feedback.

During his time at the UAMS Emergency Department, his expertise in high-acuity trauma and stroke care garnered recognition for compliance with documentation requirements and excellence in stroke performance metrics.

He has also been recognized by patients, family members and peers for outstanding patient care. He is known to be a compassionate and empathetic caregiver, with strong communication and teamwork skills, and an unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality care to patients.

Clinical Focus

Mr. Paslay’s training and clinical interests in Movement Disorders include the management of Parkinson’s Disease, essential tremor and dystonia. He is trained in deep brain stimulation programming and specialty medication management.

In daily practice, Mr. Paslay emphasizes the preservation of patient autonomy and quality of life by fostering open, plain-language discussion about the needs and expectations of patients and their families.
