About Dr. McNamara
Clinical Biography
Dr. T. Austin McNamara was born and raised in Jonesboro until his formative years, when his family moved to the Caribbean. Moving back to the States, he pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He then attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. Deciding to pursue a career in Family Medicine, he returned home, attending residency at the Family Medical Clinic – Jonesboro. Having had several years of experience as a family doctor, Dr. McNamara wanted to give back and help foster the next crop of family medicine doctors by moving to Batesville to assist in the startup of the residency program at the Family Medical Clinic – Batesville.
Dr. McNamara and his wife, Katheryn, enjoy outdoor activities such as relaxing on a lake, river, or beach, as well as spending time with their two dogs, Jones and Pancake. They also enjoy movies, board games, and reading books on a rainy day.

Dr. McNamara is so helpful. He takes his time talking with you so you don't feel rushed. He listens and explains our plan going forward. He also always does a recap and the end of the visit to make sure I haven't forgotten anything.
