Soheila Korourian, M.D. Cytopathologist

Clinical Biography

Soheila Korourian received her medical degree from the University of Vienna in Austria. She completed her combined anatomic/clinical pathology at University of Colorado for Health Sciences Center in Denver, Colorado. She completed a surgical pathology fellowship at Stanford University. She is board certified in anatomic/clinical pathology and cytopathology. Following her fellowship, she worked for two years at Denver General Hospital. She has been an active member of the International Society of Gynecological Pathologists since 1992 and has practiced pathology for almost 20 years.

Dr. Korourianhas served at various positions in the UAMS Department of Pathology during her tenure, including director of surgical pathology, interim director of cytopathology and director of cytopathology. She is currently the director of breast pathology and co-director of gynecologic pathology at UAMS. She has received many awards, including the annual faculty teaching award from the residents in pathology. She reviews UAMS biopsies and serves doctors outside the UAMS system by providing consultations.She is also involved in several research projects.

In her spare time, Dr. Korourian enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, hiking, reading, cooking and listening to all kinds of music. She loves animals. If her time allows, she volunteers with local organizations. Although her life journey has taken her to three continents, she considers herself an Arkansan and enjoys Arkansas and all the state has to offer.
