I was coming from a negative care experience, so I was reluctant to answer fully. Dr. Cheerla teased the information out and told me, "I want to know."

The uams family clinic has been my primary care for the last 15 years and it's only been this year that I have felt like neither the students nor the attending bothered to review my chart or understand my issues. The doctor who actually saw me was admittedly not usually there and didn't really know anything about me. And yet it was my way in advance scheduled wellness appointment. I had a separate appointment about a month ago regarding my Wellbutrin only to be referred to psychiatry and psychiatry has yet to reach out to me even though I've described having anxiety that is difficult to regulate. During my wellness visit, I quickly realized I wasn't going to get any help from the people that saw me because they were too concerned with making it clear they didn't really know my case. What I find upsetting about this is that I continue to be flexible and open to having students and people in training involved in my healthcare, however, I don't want to be treated like a complete stranger off the street at a clinic I've been visiting for so many years. My chart should have been better reviewed to assist me with this new level of pain that I'm dealing with as I age. The attending and the person in training seem to be more concerned about checking boxes, then listening to me during an appointment that I've waited months to get into in order to discuss specifically my mental health and hormones. Two things that this attending and doctor did not want to talk about with me. I'm just one person and I know this doesn't really matter, but I'll be looking for a new clinic.

The doctor spent so much time with me and explained my options and what my situation was and how she would monitor everything. I was so impressed and very satisfied with Dr. Cherrla. I am so glad I found this doctor.

The MD was more concerned about not feeling like her time was waisted told me she didn't feel comfortable about assisting and told me to go talk to a previous doctor .. But mentioned me getting some labs done about my blood for anemia (not why I came to visit)
