Academic Biography
Dr. Rachael Goodwin grew up in the rice and duck capital of the world, Stuttgart, AR. After graduating as valedictorian, she attended the University of Central Arkansas. She received a major in Biology / Pre-Med and as a member of the Norbert O. Schedler Honors College, gained minor in Interdisciplinary Studies. She then moved to Little Rock to attend the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences for medical school. She attended family medicine residency at UAMS Northeast – Jonesboro, where she was co-chief resident her third year. When determining how she wanted to give back to the State of Arkansas, she decided to sign on as faculty at UAMS North Central – Batesville to help teach and mentor Arkansas’ future family medicine physicians.
Dr. Goodwin spends her free time with her husband, David, and son, Henry. They are often traveling across the country trying new foods, watching the local sports teams, and adding to their state capital count.

I needed an appointment and they said as soon as I could get there. They took me right on back to a room. Was concerned about my oxygen level. Gave me prescription s and another visit in a week

Care provider went to schedule an appointment for me for a ct scan and did not return. After some time a lady came through and checked on me there were no nurses at the station I'm assuming there was a crises

My daughter, [PATIENT NAME], is [MINOR] years old. During her wellness visit the doctor mentioned there is an issue about her weight. She told my daughter directly that she was to heavy. I do not appreciate the way this concern was handled. The way it was handled can potentially cause other problems as she grows up, like an eating disorder, depression and low self esteem. I was made aware at her last visit of the food changes and lifestyle changes that were recommended to encourage a healthier lifestyle. As her mother, I have been making some of those changes but I feel the words used towards my daughter were insulting and used in an unprofessional way to explain a weight concern to a [MINOR] girl.
