Dr. Karakala was fully informed about my condition prior to the visit - he had obviously studied the health records. His explanation was clear, and his manner was warm and friendly. He came across as compassionate and concerned, and offered encouragement.

The doctor might explain more about why he was canceling a blood pressure medication that had been taken for a long time. I was too surprised to ask the doctor the reason.

Dr. K listens, explains clearly, and takes time to make sure there is understanding. I feel fortunate to have received his care. His intern, [NAME] was also sharp and engaged.

This was my first appointment with this doctor. He was courteous, interested and knowledgeable. I have had really good experiences with the doctors at UAMS. This is another one. I have already made another appointment with him for a follow up.

I appreciate the providers. I feel rushed in my visit with the provider. I am not sure if it is because it is a Friday afternoon or because it is a teaching hospital. I think it has to do with it being a Friday afternoon. As a nurse, I know my medical history and track my labs via my phone. I keep having to educate physicians on my history. I don't know what year of residency the physicians are in. I am assuming it is the chief/professor I saw after the resident rushed through his assessment. It would be nice if the second physiand told me he was the chief physian. That is important to me because I don't always see the second physician, but the resident always rushes out to report findings. I want my history documented by renal physicians so that I don't have to educate the residents during my visits. However, I will because my health matters to me, and I take responsibility for my health, My UAMS PCP knows my history very well. There are some great UAMS providers.
