About Dr. Smith
Clinical Biography
Dr. Michael Smith completed his medical degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. He then completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wake Forest University, North Carolina Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina. During his residency he was awarded the Best Resident Teacher in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Smith is originally from Little Rock, but grew up in nearby Hot Springs, Arkansas. He came back to serve his fellow Arkansans at UAMS. In 2010, he received the Red Sash Award for significant impact on medical education as nominated by medical students. He enjoys practicing at UAMS for its comprehensive care and numerous resources in technology as well as staff members.

I work in the call center in Angels. I have talked with Dr. Smith over the phone but never seen in person. He was amazing. He listened to all my concerns and helped me come up with options. His demeanor was calm and he just had a great bedside manner. I was very pleased with my visit.

Dr Michael Smith was absolutely extraordinary. I was nervous about both my procedure, and seeing a male provider but he had an energy, friendly manner, and expertise that made both me and my husband very comfortable. I felt listened to and respected, there was a female med student observing who was very kind as well. He explained everything that was going to happen very thoroughly, even drawing a visual to better my understanding. With the stress and strain that I'm sure comes with his job, my experience was nothing but wonderful thanks to him. Give that man a raise
