About Dr. Sward
Clinical Biography
Dr. Lindsey Sward, a native of Conway, Arkansas, completed her medical degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2009. There she received the Roberts Key award given the graduating senior with the highest scholastic grade point average. She was also named to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society. Dr. Sward went on to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology, also at UAMS. Dr. Sward joined the UAMS Obstetrics and Gynecology staff in 2015. She served as the medical student clerkship director from 2017 to 2022, winning numerous education awards including five Golden Apple Awards and numerous Red and Gold Sash teaching awards. She was appointed to the role of Assistant Dean for Clinical Education in the UAMS College of Medicine in 2022, where she serves to educate our state’s newest physicians. She continues to serve her patients and the women of the state of Arkansas with her work in the OB/Gyn department as well.

My visit to the UAMS was a little bit different than I had anticipated. The check in process was a little unorganized. There are just windows to check in but no true line or direction on which one to go to. Everyone just crowds around them until one is open. The check in staff did not seem very welcoming. They almost seemed like they did not enjoy their job. Once checked in and onto the 3rd floor, the lady sitting at that desk once you arrive seems like a waste of a job. She did not check you in or out, she just basically told you were to sit once you arrived and then told you to return back to the ground floor for labs or check out. Did not understand her purpose and she was unable to answer any questions. Once my actual visit had started everything was great. My care was excellent. As was my experience at the lab. Now upon check out, that seemed to ruin my experience as well. The girl that checked me out seemed irritated once she realized I was a new pregnancy patient. She was bothered by having to make so many appointments. I just settled with whatever appointments she was making because she seemed so inconvenienced by doing her job. She stated to her coworker that she could not complete her job duties because she was having to schedule so many appointments. Also, while helping schedule my appointments, she called her manager or boss and was asking if she was going to finally be in her usual area the next day so she could "finally get her work done." I guess being a UAMS employee myself she did not seem to be bothered by what she was doing. She then apologized and explained to me that she was not usually doing check in/check out, so it really messed up her day to get her work done. I got my appointments and left. It was definitely not the best experience.

Excellent experience. Thank you for getting me an appointment so quickly. Next day!!! My previous drs office was a 8 month wait to reschedule and appointment!!! Fantastic scheduling! Everyone was so nice and helpful. Place was clean and I felt comfortable. Thank you.

Dr. Sward was a very good doctor. She was compassionate and concerned and patient. She sit and she talked with me. She explained things to me I didn't know, things I should do because of my age that I didn't know which made a lot of sense to me. She was courteous. She was kind, her manners was great and I really liked her. There's not very many doctors that I can trust, but I did trust her and I told my daughter about her, you know to go and if you need to make an appointment to see her too because she was at the doctor the nurses was good. They was concerned, they took all the information, you know, they took their time. Nobody was rushing and everybody was patient with me and concerned and I really liked that. I really liked that. There's not a lot of concerned and compassionate doctors anymore, but she is very

The nursing staff was great and everybody did a wonderful job. There was some Interdepartmental communication issues that did not directly reflect Dr. Sward or her staff but probably could be addressed as a larger facility issue.
