About Kaitlin Rachael Shonnard
Clinical Biography
Kaitlin Shonnard, PA-C earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California (2017) and completed her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno (2021). She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and has been practicing in primary care since 2021. She joined UAMS in 2023 and currently provides care at the UAMS Internal Medicine and Medical Weight Management clinics. She also conducts perioperative risk assessment exams at TOSH (the Orthopaedic and Spine Hospital at UAMS).
As a physician assistant, Kaitlin works both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care providers to care for patients with a wide range of acute concerns and chronic conditions. She is passionate about preventive care, chronic disease management, and helping patients navigate complex medical decisions with confidence. She values building long-term relationships and partnering with patients to achieve sustainable, evidence-based health goals.
Outside of work, Kaitlin enjoys reading, walking her dogs, traveling, and exploring the local food scene.

PA KS was excellent. Great listener and excellent bed manners. Super empathetic. One of the few providers able to listen, doing eye contact with the patient and type in the computer. Super recommend her!

I absolutely love my PA Shonnard! I've seen a handful of doctors in my short life but I feel like she always takes time to refamiliarize herself with my and my chart before coming to see and uses up the whole time for my appointment without trying to rush me out the door. She explains her decisions and thinking through the problems I describe very well, always making me feel included. She listens to my ideas as well, never judging or making me feel less than when I'm off the mark!
