About Dr. Roulier
Clinical Biography
Dr. Julia Roulier grew up in a military family and moved to Northern Virginia just before junior high school. She pursued her education at the University of Virginia, both as an undergraduate and medical student, and remained in Charlottesville where she completed her residency training at the University of Virginia Family Medicine Department. After residency, she worked in a variety of clinical settings in Virginia and New York, including private practice, a health maintenance organization, and a public health clinic. After relocating to Batesville in 2000, she worked in a private family medicine clinic where she played a key role in the patient centered medical home program and care coordination team.
Dr. Roulier knew from an early age that she wanted to be a physician. Although her experience in medical settings had been limited to large military facilities with no continuity of care, she was drawn to family medicine through an elective course, titled “The Doctor, Patient and Illness.” This course was impactful because it emphasized the importance of building strong relationships with patients and contributing to overall community health. Dr. Roulier values forging bonds of trust with her patients and has adopted a holistic approach to treatment, addressing her patients’ physical, spiritual, and emotional needs.
Dr. Roulier’s husband, Dr. Scott Roulier, is a professor of political science at Lyon College. They share a love for travel, movies, rich coffee, good food and their two sons. They enjoy working with students and have collaborated on several medical/educational trips to Mexico City, collaborating with non-profit organizations to work in impoverished communities. In her free time, Dr. Roulier runs, swims, practices yoga, and enjoys cooking.

Dr. Roulier is simply the world's best doctor. I'd be on death's door with failing kidneys, sky high blood sugar, bad heart and everything else that can go wrong. But she pulled me from death's door and that one foot that was in the grave is not exactly in that old grave anymore. I do hope she gets to see the cannon in Scotland so that then she can get mad at me for saying to see the cannon.

Yes, this was my first visit there, so I didn't, I don't know how to explain it, but I wasn't exactly comfortable because it was just my first visit and I didn't know the doctor. And so that was why I felt a little bit uncomfortable.
