About Dr. Lane
Clinical Biography
Dr. Lane grew up in Abilene, Texas and graduated from Rice University in Houston and from UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, in 1990. His Family Medicine residency training was in Tucson with another U of A, the University of Arizona.
His first two years after training, Dr. Lane practiced rural medicine including obstetrics in Eagle Lake, Texas. He then worked in the NASA area of Houston for 10 years. He and his family moved to New Zealand in 2005 where he practiced rural medicine at the Otaki Medical Centre for six years. There he gained Fellowship (similar to board certification) in the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners. Upon his return to the US in 2011, he was employed by Sparks Regional Medical Center at the Greenwood, AR Family Medical Clinic. Over the years, he has had several interesting locum tenens assignments, too: IHS in Arizona, a cruise ship in the Caribbean, and an HMO in Hawaii.
Dr. Lane joined the UAMS West Faculty in 2014. He has special interest in outpatient care, geriatric and nursing home care, medical assisted treatment of opiate use disorder, and responsible use of limited health care resources. I am proud that our residents are able to go straight into a wide variety of practice settings, from hospitalist to ED fellowship to full-spectrum outpatient family medicine.
Other interests include outdoor sports (canoeing, hiking, and sailing) and gardening. He and his wife of 30 years, Leah, have two grown children.

I have been battling foot pain for the last 7 years and had given up on any doctor as the ones I've in the past, only wanted to pump.me for of drugs however, Dr. [NAME] listed as I explained the symptoms and scheduled an MRI which no other doctor has done in the last 5 years.

Yes, I was going to say that Dr. Lane is one of the greatest doctors I've ever had. I've had him for years and he always listens to me. He always tries to be thorough and get down to the bottom of it and I appreciate that. He works well with my kidney doctor and my rheumatologist. He's an awesome doctor. Love him to death.

Very knowledgeable about my health. He explained to me step by step and the discussion was very knowledgeable as well. The nurses were courteous and they, you know, talked to me, getting me to understand what's going on with my health. They explained it well, and the doctor explained it well. And they helped me to understand what's going on. And they made me feel comfortable talking to them about my health. Thank you.
