About Dr. Carter
Clinical Biography
Dale M. Carter, M.D., is an assistant professor of neurology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences who specializes in treating headaches.
Dr. Carter graduated from State University College at Brockport, N.Y. She attended Albany Medical College, where she focused on molecular biology and pathology. She later obtained a Master of Arts in counseling psychology at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana, where she graduated summa cum laude. In 1984, she obtained her M.D. from Albany Medical College in Albany, N.Y., where she received the Frederick Hesser Award for Academic Excellence in Neurology. She completed her neurology residency at Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Dr. Carter is board certified and holds current memberships in the American Academy of Neurology and American Medical Association. Before joining the neurology team at UAMS, Dr. Carter lived in Portland, Oregon, where she had a private practice specializing in headaches.

I am grateful for Dr. Carter. I have a genetic condition that makes finging viable treatments very difficult, but she is good about thinking outside the box. I only wish my other providers could collaborate because my issues lie in me being passed from one provider to the next and then I end up having to sort through medication interactions and such for myself.
